Who am I?

You are viewing my new years resolution. Let's just get it out in the open. I LOVE food. Unfortunately, I am not one of those skinny b*****s...I mean girls... that can eat anything I want and not gain an ounce (I have friends like this and it really bothers me.) This being said, my boyfriend and I love going to new restaurants and trying random things to eat and drink. I have come along way since eating Kraft Mac and Cheese was a fancy meal (I had a mother that was NOT a good cook). My love of eating has gotten me in trouble over the years with my health. I am no longer the active softball playing teenager I used to be. No, now I am a 26 year old that lives in northern Virginia. I am a 6th grade teacher in an elementary school (see other blog) which means I do not have a lot of time to work out. I live in a small ranch style house with my amazing boyfriend of 6 years and my two crazy dogs....yet I can never find the energy to walk them.

Health magazines and programs like Weight Watchers advocates writing down what you eat as a way of cutting calories. I have tried in the past, yet found myself lying about the healthiness or size of my consumed items. I am hoping that by committing myself to this blog idea I will accomplish two things: 1.) spend less money on takeout and 2.) keep (actual) track of what I am eating so I can ultimately lose weight.

I am not a chef, I am not trained in anyway. The things you see on this website could be the correct way or it could be completely wrong you worry for my safety....hopefully. But I am learning. I am taking recipes from other websites and magazines (come I might change and some I might not), hopefully developing my own, and experimenting along the way. Hopefully you enjoy reading about my journey.
